Pottery, wheel throwing, ... being creative with clay and glaze

Introductory lesson

The initiation class is aimed at anyone who has never (or very limited) exposure to pottery. During this class, I teach you how to knead clay and then centre it on a potter's wheel to express your creativity.

Because of the intensity of this class, I am convinced that you will get the hang of it in no time.

You can take this class alone or in pairs.

I charge the following rates for a 3-hour lesson:

if you come alone, the price is 87 euro
if you come in pairs, the price is 70 euros per person.

All material is included, bring your own apron (or clothes and shoes that can get dirty) and a couple of towels.

Bisque firing of 1 or 2 results is included. Pieces which are not safe for the kiln, the work of other pupils or my own work, can't be fired.

If you wish to glaze your bowl, mug, plate, ... afterwards that's possible with the in-house glazes. The choice of glaze and firingmethod have an impact on the price, make sure to ask for it.

Individual or couple five-lesson package

If you have acquired a taste for it after the introductory lesson, this course package is just the thing for you.

You can count on thorough individual tailor-made guidance. We continue with correct centring of the clay: from small to larger masses so that your work can grow in quality and size. We explore different shapes to make with pottery. You learn to critically evaluate your work together. If you would like to take this lessons with your partner, friend, ... that's also possible.

Biscuit firing of pieces is included in the price of the lesson. Pieces which are not safe for the kiln, the work of other pupils or my own work, can't be fired. Glazing depends on the size of the piece.

A package of 5 lessons (3 hours per lesson) costs 300 euro pp.

If you decide to register for the course package within a month of your introductory lesson, the first lesson will be deducted and you can then come for another 4 lessons.

Open atelier

If you already have some experience with throwing, but don't have the space at home to install a wheel and still want to continue enjoying this wonderful hobby, you can also come to Myrr Ceramics.

Workshop hours are booked in consultation and cost 15 euro per hour.

Clay is charged according to consumption, at 12 euros / pack of clay (= 10 kg).

All workshops, lessons or guidance are preferably given in Dutch or English.

There are also opportunities to speak some Swedish from time to time, and I'll know to find my way in French.
